J.R. Hoe cast iron downspout boots serve as an attractive architectural feature that will enhance the integrity of any building. Where plastic downspout boot connections and fabricated steel downspout boots often devalue the appearance of a building, J.R. Hoe downspout boots combine a sleek design with the natural aesthetic of cast iron, enhancing the building’s exterior appeal. All downspout boots are available unpainted, primer or powder coated in a wide range of colors and may also feature a custom design or special lettering or branding on the front panel. J.R. Hoe downspout boots achieve the aesthetic and functional balance to enhance any building project.

J.R. Hoe downspout boots’ contoured design is engineered for superior hydraulic conveyance and consistent flow capacity from the top bell into the soil pipe, directing the flow of water away from the building and into the drainage system. Design flaws such as sharp angles, outlet choke points and poor directional flow transitions lead to flow inefficiencies and clogging. Inefficient flow or clogging of a downspout boot increases cause the leaking of water near the building foundation. Most downspout boots on the market are designed for ease of production, J.R. Hoe downspout boots are designed for superior performance in the field.

J.R. Hoe cast iron downspout boots are fully resistant to damage by impact and will maintain their original appearance for the life of the building. Cast iron downspout boots ensure that the bottom section of a sheet metal downspout is protected from impact in areas subjected to vehicular traffic, lawn equipment and in public areas such as hospitals or schools. The unsurpassed material strength of cast iron guarantees a product that will provide superior protection with no risk of being dented, scarred or broken. While plastic connections break easily and fabricated steel versions are prone to denting and joint failure, J.R. Hoe cast iron downspout boots are the market leaders in durability.

Downspout Boots

Cast iron downspout boots, also known as downspout shoes or rainwater leaders, are installed onto sheet metal downspouts which are a part of building roof drainage system. They are commonly specified by engineers and architects for installation on commercial, industrial, school and military base building projects. Solid cast iron downspout boots ensure that the bottom part of the exposed metal downspout is protected from damage.

Downspout boots also enhance the building appearance. The J.R. Hoe cast downspout boot provides a transition from the square or rectangular downspout into the round piping system which connects to the stormwater drainage system. J.R. Hoe downspout boots are engineered and 3D modeled to provide the most efficient interior square-to-round flow in the industry to eliminate clogging/leaks in the roof drain system.
